Site Reliability Engineer


3 At PayU, I support a distributed system of microservices running on Kubernetes with a technology stack of Prometheus, Grafana, Kafka, Consul, and Vault to name a few. My day to day revolves around creating tools for the modern developer on the development team to allow for easy deployments, monitoring, and traceability in our system.

SPEECH: Can your API handle this?

Our talk's goal is to present the importance of load testing your system and being able to reach horizontal scalability. We will shortly present our system at PayU, a cloud-native system with 100s of microservices written mostly in Node.JS, Java, and Golang, all containerized and deployed to our Kubernetes clusters. We will share the process we undertook to load test our cloud-based system, our failures and our successes. We will shortly present the platform we developed in-house and used to achieve the abilities of load test that we wanted to reach. This platform is called Predator and is fully opensource; its repository can be found here: We will also do a realtime demo of load testing using Predator which would take +/- 7 minutes and would display the reports it creates and how we analyze them.
